Frequently Asked Questions

About Dirtastic

What is Dirtastic?

Dirtastic is a women's off-road motorcycle community founded in 2015. We offer dirt bike clinics, multi-day riding events, group trail rides, and international moto tours — all designed for women, by women. Our all-female coaching team includes certified instructors and former professional riders who create a supportive, zero-judgment environment for riders of every skill level.

Where are Dirtastic events held?

Most of our events take place across Oregon, Washington, and California, with our flagship Main Event held annually in Jacksonville, Oregon on 1,200 private acres. We also host international dirt bike tours in destinations like Romania, Colombia, and Morocco.

Getting Started

Do I need experience to attend a Dirtastic event?

Not at all. Our events welcome riders of every level, from complete beginners who have never been on a dirt bike to advanced riders looking to sharpen their skills. Clinics are organized by skill level so you'll always be riding with women at a similar stage. Check out our Beginner's Guide to Dirt Biking for everything you need to know.

What skill level do I need?

We welcome all skill levels! From brand new riders to advanced. Check out our About page for detailed skill level descriptions, or browse our free riding resources to start learning.

What bike should I bring to a Dirtastic event?

Any off-road capable motorcycle works — trail bikes, enduro bikes, and dual-sports are all welcome. If you're new to riding or don't own a bike yet, check our events page for clinics that include bike rentals. We recommend a bike that fits your size — check our suspension setup guide for guidance on seat height and ergonomics.

Do I need my own bike?

Yes, you'll need to bring your own dirt bike to most events. Some Learn2Ride sessions may have rental options available.

What gear do I need for a dirt bike clinic?

At minimum you'll need a DOT-approved helmet, goggles, boots (over the ankle), gloves, long pants, and a long-sleeve jersey or jacket. We recommend chest/back protection and knee guards. Read our complete women's dirt bike gear guide for a full checklist and budget breakdown.

Events & Logistics

Can I attend a Dirtastic event alone?

Absolutely — many of our riders come solo and leave with a crew of new riding friends. Our community is built around welcoming women who show up on their own. You'll be matched with riders at your skill level and our coaches make sure everyone feels included from day one.

What's the difference between a clinic, a group ride, and The Main Event?

Clinics are structured coaching sessions focused on specific skills (cornering, hill climbs, etc.) with a certified instructor. Group rides are casual, coach-led trail rides focused on fun and connection — no formal instruction. The Main Event is our flagship multi-day weekend combining clinics, group rides, camping, evening activities, and community — it's the full Dirtastic experience.

How much do Dirtastic events cost?

Pricing varies by event. The Main Event tickets start at $175 for the full weekend. Individual clinics typically range from $75-$200 depending on duration and location. Community group rides are free. Check our events page for current pricing.

Is camping included?

For The Main Event, camping is included with your ticket. You'll need to bring your own camping gear.

What should I bring?

Your bike, full riding gear (helmet, boots, gloves, goggles), camping equipment, and plenty of water and snacks. See our gear guide for the complete checklist.

Are there women's dirt bike events near me?

We host events primarily in Oregon, Washington, and California, with additional events at partner locations. Check our events page for the full schedule and locations. Sign up for our email list to be notified when we announce events near you.

Skills & Progression

What skill level am I?

We use a 1-5 skill rating system. Level 1 is a complete beginner (never ridden), Level 2 can ride basic trails with some confidence, Level 3 handles moderate terrain and obstacles, Level 4 is advanced single track, and Level 5 is expert/race-ready. If you're unsure, our coaches will help you find the right group — it's always better to start one level lower and move up.

Will Dirtastic events help me get faster?

Yes. Our clinics are specifically designed to build both skill and confidence. We focus on foundational techniques — body position, throttle control, cornering, hill climbs — that directly translate to faster, safer riding. Many riders report major breakthroughs after just one weekend. Browse our free riding resources to start improving between events.
